Benefits of Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers offer numerous benefits, including:

  1. Enhanced volume and contour: Restore lost volume in the cheeks, temples, and lips, while sculpting and defining facial contours for a more youthful appearance.

  2. Reduced lines and wrinkles: Smooth out fine lines, deep folds, and wrinkles, particularly in the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and forehead creases.

  3. Non-invasive and convenient: Achieve noticeable results without surgery, enjoying minimal downtime and a swift recovery process.

  4. Instant, natural-looking results: Witness an immediate improvement after treatment, with subtle enhancements that complement your unique features.

  5. Long-lasting effects: Enjoy the benefits of dermal fillers for several months up to a year, depending on the type of filler and the area treated.

  6. Boosted self-confidence: Experience a revitalized and rejuvenated appearance, enhancing your self-image and overall well-being.

Who is a candidate for Dermal Fillers?

Ideal candidates for dermal fillers are individuals who:

  1. Seek a non-surgical solution: Dermal fillers are an excellent alternative for those who want to avoid invasive procedures like facelifts or implants.

  2. Desire to restore lost volume: Candidates experiencing volume loss in the cheeks, temples, or lips due to aging, weight loss, or genetics can benefit from dermal fillers.

  3. Wish to reduce wrinkles and lines: Those with moderate to severe facial wrinkles, folds, or creases can achieve smoother skin through dermal filler treatments.

  4. Aim to enhance facial contours: Individuals looking to improve their facial contours, such as lifting the cheekbones or defining the jawline, are good candidates.

Side Effects & Risks

Dermal fillers are generally safe, but like any cosmetic procedure, they carry potential risks and side effects. Most commonly, patients may experience temporary bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site. Rarely, infections or small lumps under the skin may occur. Allergic reactions to specific ingredients in the filler are also possible but uncommon. Although extremely rare, severe complications such as tissue death, blindness, or stroke can result if the filler is accidentally injected into a blood vessel. At Luminaria Med Studio, we take every precaution to minimize risks by utilizing advanced techniques, top-quality products, and comprehensive aftercare protocols to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our clients.

Aftercare

• Apply lightweight ice for 5 min at a time 4x/day to aid with bruising and/or swelling.

• Avoid drinking alcohol or partaking in strenuous exercise, as it may result in additional bruising.

• You may take Claritin or Zyrtec 10mg twice daily to aid with swelling.

• You may use Ibuprofen 600mg every 8 hrs (take with food) to aid with pain.

• Until the swelling and redness have resolved, avoid intense heat in the treated area(s). This includes sunbathing, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, or hot wax. Also avoid extreme cold such as skiing or other winter sports.

• To help alleviate bruising, you may apply Arnica - this can be found in the natural foods section of your grocery store, or at a local pharmacy.

• Minimize movement of the treated area(s). However, if there is a visible bump, you can massage the area. Depending on the areas treated and the product used, you may feel "firmness". These areas will soften and settle with time (usually 1-2 weeks)

FAQ

  • Dermal fillers can last anywhere from several months to a year, depending on the type of filler used and the area treated. Some fillers may break down faster in areas with more movement, like the lips, while others can last longer in more stationary regions, such as the cheeks.

  • Most people find dermal filler treatments to be relatively comfortable. The procedure involves the use of a fine needle or cannula, and many fillers contain a numbing agent called lidocaine, which helps minimize discomfort. Additionally, we may apply a topical numbing cream or use ice to further reduce any pain.

  • In most cases, yes. If you are unhappy with the results of your dermal filler treatment, a product called hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve the filler. This process is typically quick and relatively painless.
